As Domhnall Gleeson once said in his role as Tim Lake in the movie About Time, “for me, it was always going to be all about love”. If there was a movie quote that would sum up my life, that would be it.

Unlike the other boys, growing up, it was never about toys or sports with me. There was no cooties phase and while everyone was watching the latest action movies, I was watching people prom-pose to their crushes and partners.

I always loved the idea of love. The possibility of finding your special someone and spending the rest of your life with them was something that appealed to me even in Kindergarten.

I started writing about my thoughts on romance, relationships and love when I turned 17 and now started letters and hearts.

about letters and hearts

One of my favourite sections in my city’s newspaper was always the advice column, Ask Ellie. Not only did she provide practical advice for others’ relationship, but they were real people with real relationships.

Unlike the movies, things don’t magically work out because that’s what the plot intended. In real life, even the most perfect relationship can have a few bumps on the road. As a millennial, I see us growing up in what might be the most significant advancement in romance, which is the internet.

Letters and Hearts is a community for romance addicts. It’s a place where the perfect relationship can be possible as long as we remember to add a healthy dose of reality.

Letters and Hearts is an idea for all those who believe in true love. That we can be happy because we accept the love we think we deserve.
