Pov by Ariana Grande | What I Learned From

I'd love to see me from your pov - Ariana Grande album cover.

Just when I thought I wasn’t getting anything to write about, I listen to pov by Ariana Grande for the first time. Correction, I listen to the entire album for the first time (cut me some slack, I’ve been busy).

Can we just appreciate this album for a second? I feel like she really dug deep into her feelings this quarantine and produced a series that made up an emotional masterpiece.

However, today we’re going to talk about one song in particular.

Without further adieu, here’s what I learned from pov, or point-of-view by Ariana grande.

We’re all insecure about ourselves sometimes

I think one of the funniest things about us humans, is that we’re so self-aware, and yet we can be so oblivious.

Often times, we are fully aware of who we are – why we do the things we do. But we don’t consciously think about it so it seems like a foreign thought. It becomes a way of being ignorant to the truth and we pretend like those insecurities don’t exist.

But the truth is, we all have insecurities. Even Ariana Grande.

This song isn’t about that though.

It’s about accepting that we have insecurities and being with someone that also accepts us.

Not only that, the love everything about us.

The right person can change everything

“I’m getting used to receiving,
Still getting good at not leaving”

I think this part really shows how Ariana sees her partner. It seems that in the perspective that it’s written, she’s a natural giver and so receiving may not be natural to her.

As a giver myself, I found this part really relatable.

I think like a lot of other givers, we’ve been with people who are natural-born takers. And I don’t say this in a negative sense, but we tend to gravitate towards people who need other people. People who take.

And so, it’s beautiful that she finally found herself in a relationship where she’s not just giving anymore, but she’s finally able to start receiving.

The song also highlights a lot of other little things showing that the right person can really change everything.

You can feel comfort in knowing there’s always someone you can rely on and someone who you can be yourself around.

You’re able to let go of your ego and your pride when you’re with this person.

It feels natural to be yourself around them.

I’d love to see me from your pov

There’s a reason I really like the song pov. Besides the fact that it sounds absolutely heavenly of course, because once again, Ari slayed this.

One of the things that truly upset me, is when people don’t see how amazing they really are. Sadly, that’s something that we all do from time to time.

But one of the things I always say is, “I wish you could just see you the way that I see you.”

That’s something that honestly means so much to me. To show the loved ones around me that they have so much to offer and change their perspective on themselves.

Basically help them be more aware of all the good stuff in them.

That’s why this song is really poetic in a sense.

So often, we are so stuck on how we see things. How we see the world, how we see ourselves, how we see each other.

But if only we can see ourselves from another person’s pov, it could completely change how we see things.

To sum it up

I learned that it doesn’t matter if you’re plain old me, or you’re a famous popstar, we’re all insecure.

But when you’re with the right person, or even if you can just look at yourself from another person’s perspective, you can see your own value in a different light.

I think everyone should want to see themselves from a different pov.

Who’s pov would you want to see yourself from?
